THE ADULT CHOIR
Ministry... Purpose...

The Adult Choir of Sacred Heart Church is dedicated to the praise and worship of God through song, to leading the assembly in liturgical hymn singing and inspiring the parish family to a deeper experience of the Word of God through the power and beauty of music.

The members are a very dedicated and highly motivated group who give generously of their time and talent at weekly rehearsals to prepare for Sunday morning liturgies and special liturgical celebrations throughout the year.

Who...

The Sacred Heart Church music ministry continually seeks to recruit individuals who wish to share their faith and gifts through music. The choir is open to all age groups, from high school students to retirees, regardless of vocal experience. Fellowship is an important aspect of this small music community, wherein members strive to help and support each other and occasionally schedule social get-togethers. New members are made to feel welcome.

When...

The Adult Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, with the exception of the first Sunday of every month when the monthly Children's Liturgy is celebrated. On those weekends the choir sings at the Saturday 6:00 p.m. Mass. Throughout the year the choir musically enriches special and festive liturgical celebrations, as well. Rehearsals are held every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the church, except during the summer months. Choir members are asked to be present at liturgies and rehearsals as faithfully as possible.

Why...

In turning their talents and time to worship and praise, choir members give back to God the gifts He has given them. Members gain a sense of satisfaction and achievement and joy at rich and harmonious choral accomplishments. Choir members learn and hone musical skills, and make new friends and contacts. The therapeutic benefits of music are well known, and rehearsals offer relaxing enjoyable hours away from outside cares and concern.
